Supporting Noise Sensitivity

Research
Project Overview
As a member of an eight-person team, we focused on determining design specifications and challenges for an assistive app to aid noise-sensitive individuals. Our approach involved creating a 60-minute interview protocol and organizing co-design sessions. We worked closely with community partners to recruit participants for the study. This collaborative effort led to the development of design implications drawn from end-user prototypes, which were instrumental in refining our existing app.
My Contributions
  • Observe and record during interviews
  • Transcribe and analyze interviewees' response
  • Provide guidance during co-design sessions
  • Analyze co-design sessions' results
Some of my data analysis
Some prototypes from co-design sessions: A) Smartwatch app with three modes for use B) Use the Calm app plus an interactive user interface C1 and C2) Model 1 and Model 2 of a smartwatch app that cancels out noises using beams D) interactive app that creates an ice cream blizzard to block out the noise around you.
